We decided to return to Kathmandu the day before our flight out – let’s just say that road maintenance is limited. The day was beautiful, our driver was good, so it only took 2 hours.

Two hours later, getting into Kathmandu, the driver turned off the highway to the right and headed into a dubious area under the bridge. For a second I wondered, but soon realized it was just an off-ramp and underpass in a state of either construction or destruction. In no time, the car geared down and climbed back up onto a “normal” road. We soon arrived at a very nice little hotel in Kathmandu, for our last night in Nepal, so we did our usual walk of the neighbourhood.
