Day 31. Embalse de Alcántara to Cañaveral (12 km)

That’s it! Walked 12 km to the bus stop in Cañaveral, and my 2018 Camino was over. I celebrated with a second breakfast of cafe con leche and three doughnuts.

The bus to Salamanca took 3 hours and went through some familiar places and some towns I had never been in.

In Salamanca I met up with two forum friends at a fancy hotel, for an evening visiting. The next morning, we said goodbye – one went back to the Camino and two of us took a train to Madrid from where we fly to our homes.

This blog series has seemed a bit disjointed – in a week or so I will (try to) write some summary comments to bring my impressions and thoughts together.
