2011 in review – Official blog stats

Thanks for visiting in 2011!  Here is the 2011 annual report for my blog, prepared by WordPress.com. I will try to keep it up for 2012.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 4,000 times in 2011. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 3 trips to carry that many people.

  1. Now I know. If someone asks me how many people a NYC subway train holds, I’ll just say “about as many people as view Clare’s blog in 4 months”. In fairness, this is an improvement on the helpful suggestion I read for understanding the U.S. national debt as a stack of dollar bills that would reach to the moon and back twice (there now: have you learned something about the debt? Or the moon? Or maybe neither?).
