The day started as usual – a walk out of town with a castle/fortress on the hill. A couple of Germans came up behind.
Very soon we got into the theme for the day: Olives.
Olives in bloom…
Olives by an ancient well, with a field of solar panels in the background…
Olives with wild flowers (and canola?) in the foreground…
The path through olive orchards…
A short break between olive orchards…
A lake behind the olives! And behind the lake, as far as the eye can see…
A different view of olives…
A processing plant – can ONLY be for olive oil!…
Trucks carrying olive stuff to and fro the factory…
An olive baron’s hacienda just before Baena…
A pleasant surprise in Baena – Hotel La Casa Grande with a pilgrim rate of €20 for a wonderful room…
Out to dinner with las chicas…
Starting with what else, but olives…
Clare, thank you for continuing to blog. I love your blog very much, your photos are fabulous – no need to be verbose. Thanks again, Arlèna
I like to make some comment or other on each photo. That is getting easier as I develop a routine on the trip, but uploading is sometimes a problem!
Enjoying the blogs Clare – keep them coming – loving the olives 🙂
