Today completes 2 weeks of walking. The first half of the day was to Cáceres, a beautiful historic city. The second half involved an hour of unpleasant highway walking (we might have missed a turnoff) and then a couple more hours to this town.
The municipal albergue is not particularly nice, but only €5 including use of washer and dryer. The Restaurante Majuca across the street (where you register for the albergue) has extremely accommodating hosts.
I’m enjoying ‘following’ you on the vdlp, a good insight into the route that I am starting myself next Thursday. Thank you.
Loving your snippets, Clare, they are a trigger for so many of my own memories. Waiting to hear what you find in Cañaveral!
Did you see the two wonderful castles entering Caceres. So nice to see them in such good condition. Apparently they have a sello for pilgrims. Should have stayed there instead of next door to the disco in Aldea del Cano ;0).
