MB is getting into this nomad life, and decided that we should go to Africa. So, from Malaga we took a bus to Tarifa, the southernmost point in continental Europe. It was quite exciting to see the Rock of Gibraltar appear, and it was interesting to glimpse the massive port facilities.
Tarifa has two main features – wind sports, and a ferry to Morocco. There is a decided surfer style to the town, mixed with tourists going to Morocco. An additional feature is that one can swim in the Atlantic on one side of this causeway, and cross the road to swim in the Mediterranean.
We took a day tour to Tangier on this ferry, in a group of about 25.
The tour was OK, including a bus tour, walk in the Medina, a Moroccan lunch, and some time to shop. It was a lot different from our preferred boots-on-the-ground style of sightseeing.
I am getting lazy on the blogging, so I’ll just post a few photos from the day.
What a fabulous trip you’re having Clare!
It has kept us interested and entertained the whole 6 weeks, probably because we have had such flexibility.
How wonderful to just roam about. I always wondered what it would be like to go from Europe to Africa, so thank you for giving me a glimpse of that.
