I don’t have much to say about today’s walk. I was thinking I would blog about the joys of walking alone and without commitment, but I’ll save that for another time.
I have arrived at the Hotel Rural Papasol in Atapuerca, which is known for the nearby archaeological sites.
I was trying to check out places, and there were some signs advertising this. By the time I found it I was exhausted and didn’t care much anymore! Anyway, I am so far quite pleased. I am paying €35 for a room with bath. It is quaint, built in 1850 so not old by Spanish standards, but it gives an interesting old-time flair.
Even more important, they are willing to serve me dinner at 5 pm!
Attached to the hotel is an Albergue which probably gives a flavor of what was more typical in years past. Forever, there would have been hotels with rooms for the affluent, and nearby accommodation for the less affluent.
