I like encountering unexpected things when I travel. Today I wandered into the Casa de Cultura in Viana (pop 3600). As far as I can determine, this week’s exhibit features the history and methods of killing pigs and making sausages. Yesterday there was a demonstration of soap-making from pig fat. Tomorrow there will be a gastronomic event, presumably featuring pork. However, today is not so appetizing.
This undated poster show a particularly famous pig.
Several versions of “The Three Little Pigs” in English and Spanish.
And a traditional butchery bench and tools.
By the way, today was about 20 km, moderate terrain, beautiful weather Los Arcos to Viana.
Hi Clare – once again, lovely pics. Can I ask, what camera are you using? (But it’s the eye of the photographer that counts… 🙂 )
Bil
Thanks! I’m just using my Galaxy Note II.
What happened to Day 7?!
I, too, am bothered by its disappearance. But I couldn’t be bother to sort it out. Only knew day 8 because it was Thursday (i think) and I had started my second week. Next time I will be sure to start on a Sunday or Monday to make it easier!!
Aha, already thinking about a ‘next time’ I see!
Of course! I never had any doubt.
