First half was a rather strenuous hike through a canyon.
Second 45% was lovely walking.
Last 5% was 1.5 km walking steadily uphill to the white village of Jimera del Libar. A bonus 1.5 km off the Camino.
Well, my body was out of gas when that last slog started and it took me an hour to get up the hill. I could not go faster! Had to stop and rest every 50 m, so 1500 m took a long time. Even when I stopped, my body couldn’t recover. There must be physiological explanation. I didn’t take a single photo on that part!
However, it was a beautiful hike so I’ll just post a bunch of photos. (The sequence isn’t quite right, but you’ll get the idea.)
First half…

Second half included a town where I could buy a drink…

From the hilltop…

Stunning Clare. Beautiful photos. I sympathise with your struggle on the last section – but you made it!
Wow! Clare! These seem so rugged! Is it a GR, a Camino (yellow arrows)?
Yesterday’s long ascent seemed like a very steep grade. For me it’s not so much about the ups or downs or their length but the steepness of the grade. Keep on 🚶🏽♀️!
i agree – one can feel a very small difference in grade.
Beautiful! ¡Buen camino!
Absolutely STUNNING…and about 5 kms further than I’d want to walk on any given day, so GOOD ON YOU. Amazing walk. And the ability to stop for a KAS Limón is just icing on the cake, isn’t it? …buen camino…
Clare, I sympathize about the climb to Jimera. The first time we were there we stayed in the campground cabins across the river. I chose to forego supper rather than make that climb up to the village and grocery store. Elaine
I tell myself that the view from below is actually prettier than the one from above.
