I was quite fine in the morning, but the planned distance included some ups and downs in the second half. Given my exhaustion yesterday and a very convenient train schedule, I decided to save my energy for the second half, which was the approach up to Ronda. I got on a 7:30 train for 10 km to Benoaján, where it conveniently stoppdd near the camino.
I was very glad, and really enjoyed the 11 km walk.
Laurie and I were in different hotels but we met for afternoon dinner at mine – Don Javier. Then we explored the Arab baths and the desfiladora walk in the ravine.
I love Ronda. ¡Buen Camino!
I assume that you are wearing a rock climbing helmet because you scaled the face of the gorge. Perhaps that was the restaurant where we ordered a mystery fish, and it arrived as a whole fish, which I found very exotic from my perspective as a young North American.
The helmet was presumably for (minor) rock fall from the walls/sides of the gorge.
