I haven’t been posting much recently, due to spending a lot of time helping my mother, who is not well. I’ve been sorting and cleaning at her place and happened upon a little novel by Evelyn Waugh that caught my eye. This book is roughly the same age as I am, but it is in worse shape. I can never resist a good satire on Englishmen, Hollywood and the funeral industry.
If this plot summary appeals to you but you can’t find a copy of the book, a 1965 movie is available on YouTube in 9 parts.
For a preview, try this clip featuring Liberace in a cameo role as a coffin salesman.
Let me know if you want to borrow the book!
Hey, I have been missing your blog updates. Hope your Mom is OK.
