I felt that 33 km was too much for me, today, so arranged a taxi to get me to Quintanilla de las Viñas. This is the location of a Visigothic church (7th century). It was a 23-km drive, but only 9 km on foot, which is a good indicator that the walking route went straight up and over at least one significant hill! Laurie walked from the start and still managed to catch up with me an hour or so before the end of the day.

It was a nice walk. Dark clouds threatened all day, but we were rained on for only 5 or 10 minutes. I kept my umbrella up a lot – both for rain and for sun. I managed to lose my visor, so my umbrella serves as parasol sometimes.

Two hats down now then!
I will need to embark on a new hat search when I get home.
Hello Margaret. I emailed you but your address must have changed. Any chance of knowing what your planned further stops would have been to Burgos before your ‘problem’.
Hi Filly. I did receive your mail and responded with loads of info over two emails. Maybe they ended up in your junk folder. Please let me know if you find my mails and if not we can work out another way to respond.
All fine and dandy. Thank you Maggie. Thank you Clare.
